Dexlansoprazole is used for:

  • Healing of erosive esophagitis (EE)
  • Maintenance of healed erosive esophagitis (EE)

Mechanism of Action[edit]

Inhibits (H+/K+ )-ATPase enzyme in the gastric parietal cells, blocking gastric acid production in the stomach

Route of Administration[edit]

Oral

Dosages[edit]

For adults and children aged 12 years and older, the typical dosage is:

Healing: 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks

Maintenance: 30 mg once daily for up to 6 months

GERD: 30 mg once daily for up to 4 weeks
